In Loving Memory

How do you know if you’re over someone?

I guess, from how I see it, you know you’ve moved on when you look back at the times and there’s merely a dull ache in the deep crevices of your chest. When you suddenly remember your times together and you don’t wince or sigh or throw a tantrum.

It doesn’t matter how the ache was formed. It could be from how it sucked or how amazing it was, but it doesn’t matter, not anymore when you’re over it.

It’s not a remorseful ache, one that you wished you didn’t feel at all. It’s like a perfectly tolerable ache that you can live with. It aches because it became a part of your past, and prefer to keep it that way.
